Whistler Mountain will open one day ahead of schedule on Wednesday, November 23rd with Blackcomb Mountain following one day later on Thursday, November 24th.
The current mid-mountain base sits at 86cm and with cold temperatures and snow in the forecast, the base is anticipated to be around 120cm by the time the chairs load. Snow-making efforts are also in full swing so marked runs should have plenty of base for skiers and riders to enjoy some early season turns.
In order to celebrate the start of another ski season here in Whistler, Whistler Blackcomb has teamed up with The North Face to promote a Base Camp Celebration on the evening of November 22nd from 7pm to 10pm. Guests of all ages are invited to attend and can expect to see smores, hot chocolate, covered camp fires, live music, prize giveaways and even a beer garden. The base camp will be created in the Skiers Plaza at the base of the Whistler and Blackcomb Gondolas where the most eager are expected to spend the night in pursuit of the first turns of the year.
At Whistler Superior Properties, we are anxiously awaiting our first turns of the year and can’t wait to see all of our friends and valued guests on the slopes sometime really soon.
