Welcome back! – Whistler is ready for Canadian Visitors

With recreational travel now permitted throughout Canada according to British Columbia’s Reopening plan, Whistler is excited to welcome domestic travelers back to enjoy a world-class summer experience. Health and safety remain top of mind for Whistler as the resort hosts summer visitors. Read our tips below to get the best deals and support local businesses to help Whistler’s recovery after prolonged closures and restrictions.

WHAT IS HAPPENING AROUND TOWN?

The world-renowned Bike Park at WhistlerBlackcomb is running full tilt. Bikers have been utilizing cooler mornings and evenings with the last chair heading up the mountain at 8pm. Sightseeing is open on the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola. Many hiking trails are free of snow and even Peak Chair has reopened after being closed last summer. Likewise golfing season is in full swing at all our local links and local adventure sports outfitters are up and running. Local shops and businesses have detailed COVID-19 safety plans in place and many are open for extended hours at this time.

HOW TO MAKE THE BEST OF YOUR TRIP?

Savvy travelers know that midweek visits to Whistler are the go-to if possible. It is quieter and some of the best deals around town are available only midweek. Restaurants, trails and village stores have more space and availability. Finding parking is easier and the parks and lakes are less crowded.

If you can, make restaurant and activity reservations in advance. Local restaurants are re-emerging after a slow season and are eager to serve visitors unforgettable dining experiences again. Check out our list of local restaurants recommended by our knowledgeable team members here at Whistler Superior.

Whistler Superior Properties is proud to work with great local adventure and rental companies that will make sure you have an amazing time while in Whistler. Whether you’re looking for ATV tours, ziplining, bungee jumping, kayaking and canoeing or fishing adventures, we have a comprehensive list of Summer Activities here.

STILL WAITING ON INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL

At this time, the Canadian border remains closed to international leisure travelers. The USA-Canada Border is closed as well. See the Government of Canada’s website for details about who is allowed into Canada at this moment. We look forward to welcoming international travelers to Whistler once the travel restrictions are lifted.
