\”What is the best place to stay in Whistler?\”
I’m asked that question about five times a year. My answer generally depends on the season someone is coming and the type of group they are travelling with. The best place to stay for a family in summer is probably different then a group of guys coming skiing in winter. Having said that, if the snow is flying and the guests are going skiing, my answer is pretty predictable. “You should consider staying at The Woodrun Lodge”
“Why do you recommend the Woodrun” you ask. Well, for quite a few reasons actually. First and foremost, it’s a true ski-in, ski-out property. TRUE ski-in, ski-out, as in ski to your door, watch people ski by from the hot tub and look out your window and see a ski lift style ski-in, ski-out. Secondly, the amenities at The Woodrun Lodge are unbeatable in Whistler. A well maintained pool, Whistler’s largest hot tub, an exercise room, a great lobby and much more.
Lastly there are some really nice suites within the building. Privately owned and decorated properties can be good or bad but The Woodrun condos generally seem to be upscale with homeowners who care about what their place looks like. Take The Woodrun Lodge #318 for example. So many fantastic upgrades throughout that I could easily call this place home for the entire winter.
As far as I see it, the only real downside of the Woodrun is that it’s tough to find any units available come winter. I guess lots of other people feel the same way I do.
